SCULPTURE

STATEMENT
Inspiration for my work strives from everyday life, and events and how we make our own connection because as human beings we look for these connections. It is a process that helps me move forward and perhaps the audience it captures. I resonate with profound artists like Louise Bourgeois and Frida Kahlo, who explore themes of human experience, identity, and resilience and their ability to translate these themes into visual and visceral forms, motivates my approach to sculpture, mixed media, and storytelling.

My creative process serves a pathway for personal growth and transformation, fostering a connection to earth, cosmos and community through shared values, traditions, and rituals across diverse cultures. Integrating these practices into my art creates a dialogue about human experiences and emotions, helping to cultivate understanding. I invite viewers to engage in themes of struggle and resilience, soul and the ego, love and fear; reflecting on the cycles of life that shape our shared journey. My layering process, from materials to symbols help weave my stories and serve as cathartic release for me, and I encourage viewers to confront and examine their own emotions and experiences. The layers are woven into each of us and help propel our transformation.

I believe there is beauty in vulnerability and strength in our shared struggles. Acknowledging the mysteries we cannot fully understand allows us to unite in empathy and embrace these complexities together. Ultimately, my art is a dialogue- a safe place that brings new meaning to symbols we have already established relationships with and creates new deeper interpretations. It is a place where emotions intertwine, mindfulness flourishes, and the belief in our collective strength transcends the challenges we face. In the face of uncertainty, we move forward together.
